Finding my way back to writing

The last few weeks have been quieter than I planned. Health issues slowed me down, and when that happens, writing is usually the first thing to slip. I don’t love that, but it’s the truth. Sometimes the words need space before they return.

During the break, I kept thinking about the work I want to do here. This blog has always been a place where I talk honestly about the writing life, the books I’m reading, and the lessons I’m learning along the way. Stepping back reminded me how much I value that. I missed showing up. I missed the rhythm of sharing something useful or reflective each week.

I also have a novel out in the world now. Releasing it was a huge milestone, and I’m proud of it. But momentum is hard to build when life gets in the way. So I’m starting again, slowly, and with a clearer sense of what I want to offer.

If you’re a reader, I’ll be sharing more about the story behind the book, the characters, and the ideas that shaped them. If you’re a writer, I’ll keep posting about the craft, the challenges, and the small wins that keep us going. Most of the time, those two things overlap. The process behind a story can be just as interesting as the story itself.

Thank you for being here, whether you’ve been following along for a while or you’ve just arrived. I’m easing back into a routine, and I’m looking forward to writing more regularly again. One post at a time. One step at a time.

It feels good to be back.

In the coming weeks I’ll be looking back at some of my favourite parts of The Watcher’s Prey. I’ll also keep you updated on the request I’ve had from an agent to take a deeper look at the first book in the Twisted series, and on my progress with my next standalone project.
