The Deep Magic of Daily Consistency

by Robin Sharma

I'm going to start by saying that I'm a big fan of Robin Sharma. I've read several of his books and love the conversational style which makes them feel so personal, like you are experiencing the advice in person, I found this to be particularly the case with this book as I listened to the audio version and have to say that I would highly recommend that approach to the book.

I'm also not sure about the hard copy version, but the audio book had extra sessions that were aimed specifically at different types of audience, for example, when I thought the book had finished I was surprised to hear it continue with a section for writers. Of course that immediately had my attention and I listened further.

I do love the anecdotes that he shares along the way but was a little disappointed that there were quite a few repeats in the chapters specific for writers from the book. I appreciate that the intent is that possibly someone reading the book would only jump to the section they find most relevant. I also understand that the purpose is to draw on the author's life experience and success and that does come through.

It also does feel more like a mentoring session rather than a book, made more so by the fact that the narrator is also the author so there's a level of engagement with the words that possibly wouldn't exist if it had been narrated by anyone else. I do like the format and the style and would recommend a listen.
