It’s rare that I get the opportunity to read a book cover to cover in one sitting, but Not Your Child by Lis Angus captivated me from the very first page. This thrilling novel is an absolute page-turner, masterfully blending impeccable pacing with compelling characters to deliver an unforgettable reading experience.
The story’s flow is seamless, with the tension building effortlessly from chapter to chapter. Each twist and turn kept me on the edge of my seat, and the suspense was expertly crafted, ratcheting up just enough to keep me hooked. By the time the story reached its exciting crescendo, I was completely immersed, desperate to know how it would end.
The characters were not only relatable but also deeply human, with motivations and flaws that made them feel real. While I won’t give away any spoilers, I have to highlight the brilliant characterisation of the antagonist. They were so nuanced and chillingly well-crafted that they truly elevated the stakes of the story.
Lis Angus has delivered a gem of a novel with Not Your Child. It’s a perfect choice for fans of suspense and psychological thrillers who crave a gripping, emotional roller-coaster. Highly recommended!
